Black n White Swap

Hello Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been blogging much this week, I have been spending most of my evenings working in my gardens and working on some swaps I had signed up for. My gardens are looking Great and it was cool and rainy out today so I got the swaps finished and packaged up to be mailed tomorrow, but I wanted to share them with you.
Well here are the 2 cards I made for the swap. One you will notice if the mojo sketch 82 I have in a recent post. I changed the stamp set used and use Basic Black, Basic Gray (we were alowed to use gray and silver but black and white a must) and Whisper white.

If you are not familiar with "swaps" this is where you make a certain number of cards and you send them to the hostess of the swap (this swap I signed up for 2 groups of 10+1 each, the +1 in this case is being given to the Cross Cancer Institute for the patients to use). Once the hostess has received all the swaps she will sort them and send you back one of your cards plus 9 different card. So around the end of the May I will have 18 new black and white cards. I'm very excited and can't wait to get my new cards.
This is the first swap I have joined. I didn't even swap at regional this year. I haven't been a Demo for very long so I was nervous and self conscious that my Swaps wouldn't be good enough.
Hope you like them,

Diorama Card

Tonight my Sister came over for some craft time. While she was using my new Big Shot Dies and cutting out everything she could, I decided I was going to finally try a diorama card. Here is my attempt. I say attempt because this is the final result but it tool me 3 tries. The inside flower and the verse we removed and changed 3 time to new boxes. The first time I did not put it all together "just" right and the card would not fold down flat to fit inside an envelope. So I saved the flower and verse and started over on the rest. The second time I did not like the way the centre punched out. The scalloped edges were all over the place and not nice and neat. Well 3rd time is the charm and now I happy with the inside edges and the card folds flat!!

This will definitely be one for my Stamp Club!!!

I used Baja Blue, Basic Gray and Basic Black SU Cardstock, 1 3/8 Square, Scallop Square, Large Oval and NEW Scalloped Oval (occasions mini) SU Punches, Basic Gray, Baja Blue and Encore! silver Stamp pads, and Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set, verse from the Best Wishes and More Stamp Set. I Heat embossed the flower in silver and water coloured it with the Baja Blue reinker and blender pen.

A special thanks to Dawn at Dawn's Stampin thoughts for sharing this great You Tube video with instructions

Hope you enjoy!

Kids Card Class

Hello Everyone,

Well I decided to turn the table today and leave the teaching to someone else. One of our Local Scrapbook stores, Scrapbooks and Smiles held a kids Easter card class today. Well I decided that I would take my Daughter Shawna and my Son Ryan, well if that wasn't enough we took my Niece and Shawna brought a friend too. Oh yes 4 kids!! We all had a blast. I had so much fun and I guess Shawna did too, now she wants a craft Birthday party now. Guess I had better start planing...lol

Well here are some pics of them having fun and the cards they made, they are so proud of their work and I am so proud of them. Guess the crafting Gene has been passed down.

Hope you enjoyed!
