My Digital Studio - Oh what fun I am having

OK so I consider myself a traditionalist, I like to Stamp, colour, cut and paste. I like to create the layout and feel the sense of accompishment. So yes I consider myself a sceptic... Untill now. I recieved my copy of "My digital Studio" yesterday afternoon and I am having so much fun. Now, I will still make my cards and scrapbook pages the traditional way BUT with this I can make a page or card when I am crunched for time, making DVD's for the family is going to be so much fun, and the possibilities of "hybrid" (using the software to start a project and when printed adding my own real embellishments to it.) Also being able to electronicly share with my family far away is a bonus.

Ok so here is some of what I have made so far to show you...(now if you click on the pictures they will go to a new page and they will be huge, I did this so you can see the clearity and detail this software has)

I designed a 5x5 card

Front

Inside (I got to use stamp sets that I dont have yet)

Here is a 2 page 12x12 Scrapbook Layout (this is my husbands band)

In this one I was playing with the Photo editing features and decided to try the "blue" finish to the photo's

I have started a Calender as well. Here is the month of April which I Miss Abigail's Brithday.

I will be back again soon,

Stationary/Card Holder

One of the great things about events like Stampin-Palooza is the 5 min WOW presentations. Now I posted what I did for my presentation, paper clip book markers, I have been in my craft room today working on re-making what the other wonderful ladies presented to us.

Michelle Sturgeon showed us how to make these wonderful Stationary Card boxes. I decided I would like to make my first one a christmas theme. Directions can be found here.

For these is used the SU! Merry Moments Designer series paper and coordinating SU! Cardstock, Ink and Ribbons in Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Old Olive, Garden Green and Very Vanilla. Stamps Used were various SU! Christmas and Holiday Sets.

Hope you enjoy and watch for my new Fall/Winter Class schedule, something like this will be on there for sure!!

I just wanted to put a quick post to show you the beautiful make-n-takes that we made at Stampin Palooza. Caroline and the ladies did a great job and there had to have been sooo much prep for these.

We are got kits with everything we needed (pre cut, pre embossed, etc) to make 4 cards and a great little trinket box.

5 Minute WOW presentation - Bookmarkers

In case you haven't heard Stampin-Palooza was this past Saturday (hehehe of course you knew that already) and I was asked to be a presenter for the WOW projects. Well Months had gone by since I was asked and I hadn't thought of ANYTHING. A week before Palooza I decided I wanted to make these book markers. This is one of my favorite workshop and open house projects. If done right this gets your hands on so many cool tools and its quick, and it is a forgotten project for us demonstrators. This is not my idea, I did not come up with idea and I honestly do not know who to give credit too. It is on many blogs out there is blog land, it is on split coast and it is on the front cover of the new 2009-10 Stampin' Up! idea book.

Ok so a little story for you before I post the pics and "how to". Saturday begins and we are enjoying our morning and watching all the great WOW presenters and someone announces that the next person is the last WOW presenter. My nerves start... name is called... NOT ME!!! ok so honestly I thought WOW, the morning is running a bit behind and I'm not doing my presentation... relief!!! lol Not so much, Caroline let me know at lunch that I would be right after lunch... great now I get the nerves all through lunch. I have to say my nerves got the best of me and my hands shock all through my presentation, hard to use punches and glue dot. Also "Big Shot Brent" was holding the mics for us so that we had our hands to do our presentation... nothing like looking down at a table and having a mic up your nose...lol no really thanks Brent!!!

OK so here are the instructions (brief and I don't write this kind of thing very well so if you think I missed a step, please let me know) Also just to let you know these are ones I had to make when I got home and not the same ones I showed at Stampin-Palooza, I left those there and forgot to take pictures.

Here ya go....

Cut shapes from Cardstock using dies and the big Shot Or Use your favorite punches OR (my fav) the silk flowers from the Pretties Kit. Remember you need two of everything as you have a back and a front. They don’t have to be the same. This is where you get to be creative and Embellish how ever you want, use your fav technique or add some glitter!!  You should now have a front and a back.

Lay face down and place paper clip on, apply SU! Pop-up glue dots, you may want to double them (one on top of each other). Make sure you have the single metal end up and double end down and place your dots above and below the metal at the top. (see pics) This will ensure your project does not slide up and down. Now place other embellished shape on top.

Voila!! Finished project

Well hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. Thanks again Caroline for asking me to be apart of such a wonderful day.

Here are some pics of me doing the presentation. Notice I am leaning away from evil Brent and the mic up my nose.

Look Mom! I'm on TV...I always knew you would see me on the big screen some day...lol
